Career and Employment

Did you know that you don't have to wait to graduate to start working on your professional development? The UOC can support you from day one with a wide range of services and resources to help you advance your career and achieve your goals.

How can we help make you more employable?
This video explains how the UOC's Career and Employment Services can help you (in Catalan).

The UOC empowers you so you can create a career path suited to your interests and competencies and emerging needs in professional sectors.

We want to help you manage your short-, medium- and long-term career development in an evolving environment.

To check out all our services, register with the Career Center, the UOC's career services and guidance platform. You'll enjoy privileged access to exclusive job offers in the job bank, as well as exclusive events, guidance resources and much more.

This guide shows you how to access, customize and navigate the platform to get the most out of it based on your profile. Find all the information, features and tools you need to build a successful career.

We provide the following services and resources:

  • The job bank, where you can search for job opportunities that may be of interest to you and set up personalized alerts to find the most suitable ones for you.
  • A calendar of activities specifically designed to help boost your career and develop your skills. Attend talks and workshops on looking for work, how to get ahead in your career or how to start your own business.
  • Would you like to advance your career? Are you thinking of moving to a different industry or doing something more motivating? You can ask the career guidance service for a guidance session with the UOC's Career and Employment Services staff.
  • We provide comprehensive information on helpful resources, how to look for work, internships, the labour market, grants and scholarships and how to start your own business.
  • Read through the profiles of the companies you're interested in, and check out the repository with all the corporate information and job offers to help you make your applications and prepare for interviews.
  • You'll also find tips, a profession database, testimonials and much more.

Remember that you can also attend the annual UOC Online Employment Fair, an online event where UOC students and alumni, professionals, companies and institutions can meet and share their knowledge and experiences. As a member of the UOC community, you'll have free exclusive access to this event. Come to the Fair for exclusive job and internship offers, the chance to visit participating companies' stands and chat with them live, have recruitment interviews with leading companies in a variety of sectors, attend online talks and presentations on employment and labour market trends and expand your contact network.

If you'd like to work for an EU institution, the UNICAT Ambassadors project, which acts as a bridge between European institutions and Catalan universities, can make this possible. The project aims to publicize job opportunities and profession-focused internships offered by European institutions to universities through the UNICAT network.

People with a certified disability of 33% or more have access to dedicated career guidance and employment opportunities services, such as the Randstad Foundation's Infopoint Service or the ONCE Foundation's Inserta Empleo service. You'll find more information in the Diversity support section.

Remember that you can also make contact with the world of work through external academic internships. And, if you're thinking of giving your CV a boost, have you considered volunteering? Learn about the available options on this page!
