Athlete support programme

Athlete support programme

Do you compete at a high level of your sport? The UOC can help you ensure that your sporting career is compatible with your studies so that you don't have to give either of them up.

How can we help you find a balance between studies and sport?

We have partnered with the main sports organizations to create the UOC competing athlete support programme and help you combine your studies with the commitments required by your sport.

The following organizations are collaborating as partners in the programme:

  • UFEC - Sports Federation Union of Catalonia.
  • CAR - Sant Cugat High Performance Centre.
  • Bepro Foundation.
  • CSD – Spain's National Sports Council, which is part of the Spanish Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sport.
  • Promosport - international football player representation agency.
  • AFE - Spanish Footballers Association.
  • AJFS - Futsal Players Association.
  • AJFSF - Women's Futsal Players Association.

If you're a member of any of these associations or organizations, ask them for a UOC discount code. Enter the code at the time of enrolling and on the first day of the academic year you'll be able to join the specific support programme for athletes. You must do this again every semester.
If for any reason you can't apply the discount code during the enrolment process, let your tutor know that you're a competing athlete. This way, even if the course has already started, you can still join the specific support programme for athletes.

Thanks to the programme, you'll receive all the support you need in those academic aspects that may be affected as a result of your dedication to your sport.

What are the benefits of the programme?

If you're a competing athlete and a member of one of our partner organizations, you can enjoy the following benefits:

  • Discounts on the enrolment fee: during the enrolment process, enter the code provided by your sports organization to enjoy 10% off.
  • Academic adaptations: you'll have flexibility when it comes to making changes to your personal test schedule, and can request a customized timetable if you're unable to attend a test for justified reasons relating to your sport. In addition, you have the right to take your final tests the following semester, at no additional cost, if you're unable to sit them at the same time as your classmates.
  • A special support tutor: you'll be assigned a tutor in addition to your existing one to help you combine your academic and sports activities. This additional tutor will advise you on the academic procedures and adaptations you need to balance your academic and sporting commitments. Furthermore, they'll help you manage the change between stages (such as after the end of your sporting career) and support you in any relevant aspects that are not strictly teaching-related.
