Grants and financial aid

Grants and financial aid

At the UOC, we want as many people as possible to be able to access lifelong learning. To help us achieve this, there's a wide range of grants and other financial aid available. Find out about all the options available to you and apply!

What grants can you apply for?

You can apply for a grant based on what you want to study and whether you meet the requirements.

In order to ensure equal opportunities and access to official programmes, the Spanish Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports awards grants every year. To be eligible, you must meet certain general, academic and financial requirements.

The UOC is committed to ensuring equal access to education for everyone. This is why it provides grants and financial aid to make its programmes available to different groups of people. This aid may be provided directly by the UOC or in collaboration with other bodies or governments in other countries. For example:

  • Grants for refugees, asylum seekers or stateless persons.
  • Grants awarded by the UOC and the Randstad Foundation to people with a degree of disability of 33% or more.
  • Sèniors actius (Active Seniors) grants, awarded in partnership with the Colisée Foundation, for people over 65 wanting to take open courses.
  • Enrolment aid and grants to help people in rural areas access university-level programmes.
  • International grants for students from Latin America and the Caribbean wishing to study for university master's degrees.

There are also grants to encourage people to take technology specialization courses or train in the digital transformation of educational institutions.

Furthermore, if you're studying for a bachelor's degree or a UOC-certified or university master's degree and want to apply for an Erasmus grant to study or do an internship abroad, you'll find all the information you need in the International mobility section.

What other discounts and financial aid are available?

Based on your situation and what you want to study, here are some of the types of financial aid you can apply for:

  • Discounts for members of specific groups and people with specific circumstances: you can get a discount if you can prove that one of the following applies to you: having a disability or being a member of a large family, having obtained a distinction, being a victim of terrorism or gender violence, or being in receipt of the minimum living allowance. More information (in Catalan or Spanish).
  • Early enrolment: you can get up to 8% off the total enrolment fee for bachelor's and master's degrees, as well as having the option to pay in instalments. Check the deadline for applications in the Enrolment and fees / Discounts section of the information page for your programme.
  • Alumni: if you've already graduated from the UOC, you can enjoy 10% off to continue studying with us.
  • UOC community members: enjoy 7% off when you enrol on a UOC-certified programme.
  • Companies and institutions: if you work for a company or organization that has a partnership agreement with the UOC, ask them for the promotional code to enjoy up to 30% off your enrolment fee.
  • Athletes: elite athletes affiliated to partner organizations are eligible for the Athlete support programme, whose benefits include, among others, a discount on enrolment fees.

As well as mentioning your entitlement at the time of enrolment, you may also have to send us supporting documents by the deadline in some cases.

Likewise, the available payment options include paying the fees for your bachelor's degree, university master's degree, lifelong learning programme or other programme in instalments.
