How are the UOC's official programmes structured?

We offer various kinds of programmes with different access routes and goals:

• Bachelor's degrees. These are the initial levels of study at the university, and they provide a general education. Bachelor's degree programmes have 240 ECTS credits and form part of one of the following branches of knowledge: arts and humanities, sciences, health sciences, law and social sciences, engineering and architecture. Bachelor's degree programmes comprise foundation courses (within the branch of knowledge in question), compulsory and optional subjects, as well as a final project and, in some cases, external internships with businesses or other organizations.
• University master's degrees. To take a master's degree programme, you must first hold an official bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification, as the goal of master's degrees is to provide specialized training or foster research. Master's degrees at the UOC have between 60 and 90 ECTS credits and are split into compulsory and optional courses and master's degree final projects. Internships are also available.
• Doctoral degrees. These are third-cycle programmes that provide training to carry out quality research and lead to the completion and defence of a doctoral thesis. You can take them on a part-time or full-time basis, either remotely or on-site.

What do you need to do to enrol?

After submitting your admission application and before enrolling, we strongly recommend that you contact your tutor. If you complete the personal data survey, they'll know more about you, how much time you have available and be able to provide better advice on which courses to choose.

It's also important you bear in mind the following tips:

1. Before completing the enrolment process, you should prepare your enrolment proposal (this is only applicable to bachelor's and university master's degree programmes). Your tutor will analyse this proposal, provide you with personalized advice and, finally, validate it. 2. It's very important to check which dates the final assessment tests are held before you enrol. It is not possible to change dates due to clashes, except for justified reasons in certain anticipated cases.
3. If you've requested a prior studies assessment, plan to do so at some time in the future or wish to validate previous studies, don't enrol in any course that's eligible for validation or adaptation until you know the outcome of your request.

How are the UOC's other qualifications structured?

• Lifelong learning programmes. If you want to access a lifelong learning programme, you must have an official university degree or certify work or professional experience, with a competence level equivalent to the degree level. Lifelong learning programmes are divided into UOC's online specialization diplomas and expert diplomas. They have between 10 and 36 ECTS credits.
• Profession-focused courses. Medium-length programmes offering the chance to update and refresh the most sought-after professional competencies in the labour market. These courses are an effective tool for acquiring skills in specific fields, on a flexible basis.
• Vocational training. These are professional training programmes focused on "learning know-how" through projects, seminars and theoretical and practical training in the workplace.
• University access for the over-25s and over-45s.
• LEnguage courses. There are over 50 online courses varying in length and level for you to choose from. You can learn English, French, German, Chinese, Japanese, Catalan and Spanish.
