STUDENT GUIDE 2024/2025

Learning resources

At the UOC, learning resources are digital and available anytime, anywhere. They are all fully compliant with quality criteria and tailored to the relevant learning needs in each case. Moreover, as well as fulfilling their educational purposes, they aim to help you enjoy your learning experience.

What are our learning resources like?

In the classroom for each course you'll find all the resources you need to successfully do the assignments set by teaching staff. These include digital content such as books, journals, audiovisual materials (such as videos and podcasts), websites, infographics, manuals and software.

As part of your training, you'll acquire both theoretical and practical knowledge, using resources tailored to your learning objectives that are flexible enough to adapt to your needs.

There are two types of learning resources:

  • Resources produced by the UOC (UOC materials): these are produced specifically for each course and can only be used by members of the UOC community. They are produced in-house by the UOC, acting as its own publishing house or an audiovisual production company, and come in different formats.
  • External resources: these are resources available on the market that have been carefully chosen as being particularly suitable for each course. Where necessary, we sort out copyright matters for articles or book chapters, e-book access permissions and subscriptions to make sure that the materials can be properly used in the classroom. Many of these resources take the form of profession-focused software, tools or resources that are used in the professional world, and knowing how to use them will boost your career prospects.
