The Campus for Peace and the Conflictology Research and Studies Centre (CREC) of the UOC's Internet Interdisciplinary Institute (IN3) are the organizers behind the seventh edition of the International Conference on Conflictology and Peace, which will once again be held in Barcelona, on 2 and 3 October 2014.
The venue, EspaiCaixa Palau Macaya, will host a gathering of the foremost experts and specialists in conflict resolution from around the world, who over a two-day programme will present and discuss a range of projects and initiatives for establishing a lasting culture of peace.
The Conference, widely regarded as the key international event in the field of conflict resolution, peace and human rights, is an opportunity for professionals and experts to share their experiences, to create specialised knowledge networks, and to discuss strategies for promoting research in the field to improve understanding of the causes of conflicts.

Themes
Conflictology, or Conflict Resolution, is the science addressing the study of conflicts, the causes of conflict, and possibilities for peaceful resolution.
The study of conflicts and of the procedures and techniques through which they are resolved is an innovative area of scientific activity and a successful new field of professional practice, with broad-reaching applications.
Conflictology examines conflict situations from an integrated, multidisciplinary perspective, identifying the many ways in which solutions can be found and proposing new and positive ways to live in peace.
