#SpinUOC firmly established as the UOC knowledge transfer event

The Former Estrella Damm Brewery hosts third edition of an event that brings UOC innovation closer to enterprises.

Smart cities, e-Health and e-learning are some of this year’s sections.

Enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with live music and a refreshing beer while eight innovative and transferable projects are presented in little more than six minutes each. This is the formula of #SpinUOC, to be held for the third time on 18 June, at 7 pm, hosted by broadcaster and presenter Òscar Dalmau. The objective is to put within the reach of enterprises and institutions the results of research by UOC personnel and students so that they can value and adapt them to their organizations.

In the framework of the 20th anniversary of the UOC, #SpinUOC 2015 has many new features. On the one hand, the projects presented have been selected by a panel of experts in transfer from inside and outside the University. On the other, there will be several awards for the best projects presented.

Moreover, this year's event still features the #SpinMeetings, short meetings between speakers and the audience members who request them to encourage networking and provide the opportunity to explore the projects presented in depth.

Pecha Kucha, a fast and innovative presentation format

The eight projects presented at Spin UOC 2015 will be in Pecha Kucha style, a fast presentation format consisting of explaining the project through 20 slides shown for 20 seconds each. It is, therefore, a format that requires conciseness, clarity and creativity, given that the presentations last under seven minutes.

The projects presented this year cover fields such as personalization of children’s learning, a 3D human anatomy atlas; how to manage the e-last will and testament; avoiding traffic jams in the cities of the future; care services for children with language disorders; smart care for seniors; and secure remote validation of the e-assessment process.

#SpinUOC can be discussed on Twitter at the hashtag #SpinUOC, and also on the Facebook and LinkedIn profiles of the UOC Research and Knowledge Transfer Support Office, organizer of the event.

This year the event once again has the collaboration of 4 Years From Now ─ the entrepreneurial initiative developed by Mobile World Capital Barcelona ─, the Foment del Treball Nacional, Secartys and Estrella Damm.
