Tom Caswell brings over 15 years of experience in instructional technology and course development to his role as Director of Instructional Design at Helix Education. Previously, as Director of Instructional Design at Western Governors University, he developed over 120 courses and shared competency-based models with numerous community colleges through a Gates Foundation grant. In 2010 Tom led the Open Course Library in building 81 open courses for the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges (SBCTC).

Brandon Muramatsu is the Assistant Director of Strategic Education Initiatives in MIT’s Office of Digital Learning. He has been involved in the development of learning technologies to support open education/opencourseware, teaching and learning, online learning, educational digital libraries and engineering education since 1993. He designs web applications and tools for educators and learners to develop/author, use, reuse and share digital learning resources and works with faculty to implement learning technologies in their classes and with their students. His work also focuses on the potential of open education to improve teaching and learning worldwide.
