UOC launches the "Open Thoughts 2012" blog

In celebration of the International Women’s Day, Gender&ICT, the UOC’s R+D+i group, leads a new social web space to think about gender and the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), this group’s primary subject of study.

Managed by the Research and Transfer Support Office (OSRT), Open Thoughts 2012 is a UOC initiative, that brings together a wide range of international experts from the academic, artistic, cultural and socio-cultural fields to explore a common topic. Based on the question, "What if Steve Jobs had been a woman?", international participants, with different backgrounds and perspectives, will have the opportunity to share their views about this gender-focused topic throughout 2012.

Juliet Webster, director of the Gender&ICT group, signs the blog's first article, which also counts on the participation of Neelie Kroes, vice-president of the European Commission.

The initiative
Open Thoughts 2012 is part of the Open Thoughts initiative, whose objective is to spotlight UOC’s leading R+D+i groups, using easy access blogs, to raise public awareness about their interests and work.

English is the language for publication.
