Summary
Models of transition to the knowledge society, both market-based model (California), as in the state-led (Finland) suggest that countries should develop a national strategy for joint development from a state that raises barriers to access to public goods (education) and build a project that provides an identity based on autonomy. However, both models assume the existence of entrepreneurs not only solve the secrets of the new techno-economic paradigm but have a privileged place in the social consideration. No such thing happens in emerging countries, where economic asymmetries overlap cultural pyramidal models of paternalistic tradition (Castells and Himanen 2014). We conducted a comparative analysis of single cases of overall four different competitive companies emerging in the industries in the metropolitan area of Buenos Aires between 1980 and 2014. The basic methodological approach is the case study (Eisenhardt 1989). Each case will be analyzed by the method of mapping assembly proposed by the actor-network theory, considering both the relevant actors as legacy technology systems of the industrial era (Latour 1998, Callon 1987, Heeks Hughes 2007).
