Summary
In recent decades, the emergence of social media platforms has had a profound impact on the way people communicate and has also influenced how professionals access information and update their knowledge and skills. The purpose of the research was to identify which activities, relations and resources people training in the communication sector are choosing to implement via social media platforms. The aim is to better understand how these platforms can support the professional development of communication professionals. The research applied the framework of learning ecologies to situate the learning that takes place in the digital age through different learning contexts: virtual and face-to-face, formal and informal, and in a guided or self-taught way.
