Pastora Martinez participates in Cafè de la Recerca: ‘New metrics and trends when evaluating research projects’

In an ever-evolving world, it is essential to adapt our assessment methodologies to accurately capture the impact and effectiveness of research projects. From impact assessment to quantification of innovation and scientific excellence, traditional metrics have evolved to address the emerging demands of the research community and different stakeholders.

In order to pose a light on these and other issues, on June 18, the CCF Research and Technology Commission will organize a new ‘Research Coffee’, under the heading ‘New Metrics and Trends in Evaluating Research Projects’.

Starting from the current approach at the European level and focusing on the situation in Catalonia when evaluating research projects, we will analyze some of the alternative metrics that are being used in order to identify new opportunities that can contribute to improving the evaluation processes and to address the challenges posed by the scope of research.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about experiences and best practices driven by research centers and universities from professionals with extensive knowledge on these issues, which will help us identify the factors being evaluated and explore emerging trends in this field. The session, which will be offered in virtual format, is free and can be followed through the Zoom platform.
