UOC involvement in the Open Science European Conference

As part of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the Open Science European Conference (OSEC) will be conducted online from Paris on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 February 2022.

 

This international conferenced is being organized by the following French institutions: the French Academy of Sciences, the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), the National Institute of Health and Medical Research (Inserm), the High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education (Hcéres), the National Research Agency (ANR), the University of Lorraine, the University of Nantes and the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation.

 

The main topics to be addressed relate to transformation of the research and innovation ecosystem in Europe.

 

Discussions will focus particularly on:

 

- transparency in health research,

- the necessary transformation of research assessment,

- the future of scientific publishing, 

- the opening of codes and software produced in a scientific context.

 

The UOC participates in national and international forums promoting open science, and its Vice President for Globalization and Cooperation, Pastora Martínez, will take part in one of the round tables on research assessment on 5 February.
