Seminar (CNSC): "Online political communication in Spain"

The IN3's Communication Networks & Social Change (CNSC) research group is pleased to invite you to the "Online political communication in Spain" Seminar which will be held online on Friday 25 February from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (CET).

Víctor Sampedro, Professor of Political Communication at Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC), will lead discussion with those attending on the main issues covered in his latest book, Comunicación política digital en España. Del "pásalo" a Podemos y de Podemos a Vox (2021, UOCPress).

11 a.m. – 11.15 a.m. Introduction by Marta Cambronero (predoctoral researcher in the  Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) IN3 CNSC-Technopolitics research group).

11.15 a.m. – 12.15 p.m. Talks

Talk 1: "Two decades of online political communication in Spain" by Víctor Sampedro (Professor at the URJC, Cyberdemocracy research group). Duration: 20 min. Language: Spanish.

Talk 2: "The study of the contribution of social media in the public sphere" by Rosa Borge (Leader of the CNSC research group, and Associate Professor of Political Science and Administration in the UOC's Faculty of Law and Political Science). Duration: 10-15 min. Language: Catalan.

Talk 3: "Use of online social media, participation and public opinion" by Carol Galais (Researcher in the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) Department of Political Science and Public Law's Democracy, Elections and Civic Responsibility research group). Duration: 10-15 min. Language: Catalan.

Talk 4: "Collective and connective action in 21st-century activism" by Marta Roqueta-Fernàndez (Predoctoral researcher in the UOC IN3 Gender and ICT (GenTIC) research group). Duration: 10-15 min. Language: Spanish.

12.15 p.m. – 1 p.m. Debate

There will be debate between the speakers and the people watching the livestream. If you would like to take part, leave your question or comment in the chat.
