This online research seminar, organized through the ERC project "StG MapModern - Social Networks of the Past: Mapping Hispanic and Lusophone Literary Modernity 1898-1959", will take place in Catalan  on Tuesday 15 December 2020, from 3 to 5:30 pm, via Google Meet.

Mar Binimelis-Adell

Mar Binimelis-Adell is professor in the Faculty of Business and Communication Studies at the University of Vic - Central University of Catalonia (UVic-UCC) and for the University of Barcelona's (UB) Master's Degree in Women, Gender and Citizenship. She is also a member of the UVic-UCC TRACTE (Audiovisual Translation, Communication and Territory) research group. In addition, she is involved in the Women and Cinema (MYC) international research network project and is a researcher at the UVic-UCC Centre for Interdisciplinary Gender Studies (CEIG).

She regularly publishes in academic journals and is currently editing the books Espectáculo de frontera y contranarrativas migrantes. Estudios de caso sobre la representación y autorepresentación audiovisual de los migrantes y refugiados en dos orillas del Atlántico (Mar Binimelis-Adell and Amarela Varela Huertas [eds.], Peter Lang Publishing) and Conversaciones con mujeres profesionales del sector cinematográfico español (Annette Scholz, Elena Oroz, Mar Binimelis-Adell and Marta Álvarez [eds.], Peter Lang Publishing, Romania Viva collection).

She is a researcher on the R&D project "Las relaciones transnacionales en el cine digital hispanoamericano: los ejes de España, México y Argentina" (CSO2014-52750-P), as well as the coordinator of the "Crossroads" (European Commission, Erasmus+) and "Transformando imaginarios de género" (ICD) projects, among others. In addition to gender, she studies other areas of inequality and power in communication and audiovisual media. Binimelis-Adell is also a former visiting researcher at Vassar College (New York), the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), Universidad Autónoma de la Ciudad de México (UACM) and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, among other institutions.
