Program

The Seminar aims at analyzing the different solutions existing in Spain and other EU countries as well as in the United States and in international law, to ensure educational uses of copyrighted works by universities. We will also analyze some recent rulings, such as by the Juzgado Mercantil n.2 of Barcelona, of 2 May 2013 (CEDRO v. UAB), the U.S. Northern District of Georgia, of 11 May 2012 (Cambridge UP, Oxford UP and Sage Publ. v. Georgia State University) and the U.S. Southern District of New York, of 10 October 2012 (Authors Guild v. Hathitrust).

 
The Seminar will take place next Wednesday 19 of June, at 6.30 pm, at the central headquarters of the UOC, Av. Tibidabo, 39-43 of Barcelona.
 
Prof. Ginsburg’s presentation will be in English; Spanish and English will be used for debate (no simultaneous translation provided).
