Meeting on quality standards for online postgraduate courses in the EU and LAC

UOC President Josep A. Planell is taking part in the online event "Intercambio sobre estándares de calidad en la oferta de cursos académicos virtuales de posgrado en la Unión Europea y América Latina y el Caribe" (Meeting on quality standards for online postgraduate courses in the EU, Latin America and the Caribbean), organized by the EU-LAC Foundation and the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB) as part of a gathering of higher education institutions from the European Union, Latin America and the Caribbean in the 27th Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State.

Faced with the steadily growing number online education programmes, it is vital to uphold the necessary quality standards and ensure that the postgraduate qualifications students obtain are officially recognized. Therefore, the purpose of this event – in which representatives from universities, higher education institutions and other key stakeholders will be participating – is to tackle the issue of how to ensure fulfilment of the quality standards recognized in the online master's and doctoral programmes offered by European, Latin American and Caribbean institutions.

The event will take place online and will last two hours, starting at 4.30 p.m. (CEST) on 8 April 2021.
